Lian Yang, female artist, real name: Wu Yang, English name: Lotulist. She graduated from the middle school attached to Sichuan Academy of Art and Central Academy of Art (CAA). Being a professional young artist, an illustrator focus on traditional Chinese style artworks and a researcher of traditional culture, she is now working for the Ministry of Culture of the P.R.C. She is very good at creating artworks that related to traditional Chinese culture and by doing this won the nickname “the youngest Chinese dragon maker”.
Lian Yang has the passion for painting from her very early age. She spent many years on studying and promoting traditional Chinese culture. By continually combining traditional and modern culture, she created numerous extraordinary artworks which are culturally profound yet impressive with their modernness. Most of her artworks are themed on Chinese folklores and stories, as to techniques, she integrated the characteristics of engraving, Chinese new year picture and traditional Chinese painting. She is regarded one of the most influential artists in China that adopt the traditional Chinese painting style. She created many artworks with dragons, Bodhisattvas and Buddhist scriptures with lively and unique strokes, which are collected by collectors worldwide.
